The statue rising 55m high curved out of the face of sandy mountain.
It was said that when Hsuan-tsang arrived in Bamiyan in A.D.632,he watched this giant Buddha glittering in the golden-colored.
This huge statue had been the tallest standing Boddha all over the world.
On March 2001,the Taleban had crushed this Great Buddha in pieces.
